I am Tnah Louise, affectionately known as "Earth Mama," a nurturing figure in my community and deeply engaged in the field of postpartum care. My journey began in the beautiful landscapes of Costa Rica, where I gave birth to my firstborn, Roméo, on a beach near Montezuma 29 years ago. This was followed by the water births of my three sons in the comfort of my Echo Park home. Raising four sons has been my life's tapestry. As they have grown into adulthood, my dedication to this sacred work has only intensified.
I transitioned from a long career in the fashion industry, with my last job as a director of a modeling agency, Q Models in Los Angeles, to becoming a children's fashion photographer while raising my sons. In addition to this I have been involved in partnership with three restaurants and one coffee shop over a 31 year span. However, everything changed when I was asked to photograph a retreat for birth workers in Ojai nearly 12 years ago. Within the first hour there, I knew my life would be forever altered; working with women on a nurturing level was my true calling. My expertise stems from rigorous, hands-on training throughout the world studying with pateras (midwives of Mexico) and seasoned practitioners, providing me with practical understanding and holistic approaches often absent in traditional training. The impact of my methods and the success of my work are reflected in numerous positive reviews, which can be found on A Sacred Passage's Yelp page. These testimonials underscore the effectiveness of my nurturing support and the unique value of experiential knowledge. I now offer a comprehensive array of full-time Mother Roasting services, ranging from, nourishing meals to placenta encapsulation, womb rituals, ceremonial bathing, 'closing of the bones', mother's blessingway ceremonies, and the revered art of Bengkung Belly Binding. These practices are all dedicated to ushering profound healing and joy into the lives of countless women I have served over the last 12 years. My impact transcends local borders; I channel my dedication to empowering women through an online program called Sacred Menarche. Drawing from a vast well of knowledge, I guide young women through a transformative journey, educating them on the significance of their menstrual cycle, the potency of their blood, and the sacred essence of womanhood. This ceremonial rite of passage nurtures young girls into empowered, self-aware women. I integrate my ceremonial practices into my work and relationships, drawing from both my Mexica/Yaqui and Irish roots. This fusion of cultural influences enriches my approach with a diverse range of holistic modalities, honoring the wisdom passed down through generations and enriching the transformative experiences I share with those I serve. My pursuit of knowledge fuels my commitment to transformative work. I have delved deep into the realms of Archetypal and Cross-Cultural Psychology with the Heart Of The Wounded Healer program, blending Curendarismo and archetypal psychology under the mentorship of the esteemed Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés. In 2024, I plan to extend my postpartum services abroad in France, and continue my studies and partake in Wombs of the World, being mentored by Ecuadorian midwives who are eager to share their teachings with those of us from around the world who are dedicated to preserving ancient practices in a busy modern world. I am excited to share that later in the fall of 2024 my work will be featured in a new Netflix series focused on Fatherhood. I strive to stay at the forefront of transformative practices for the well-being of my community and the betterment of Mother Earth. When not mothering the mother, I can be found hosting women's circles and leading empowering women's retreats, both locally in Los Angeles, where I reside, and abroad. |
