A Year of Thresholds: Being Witnessed in the Work

As I closed 2025 in reflection I realized that I had fulfilled every aspect of what it means to hold sacred space across the full spectrum of human life with the closing of the year. From welcoming new souls through birth, guiding young women through menarche ceremonies, honoring unions through weddings + handfastings, offering mother blessingways, and standing beside women as they entered their crone power years, to officiating naming rites for babies, holding funerary ceremonies, and walking a few brave souls gently through death’s doors.
Each rite of passage requires an immense inner capacity, not only to witness transition, but to translate it into beauty, language, ritual, and form. These ceremonies are not templated or transactional. They are composed slowly, deliberately, and with reverence, so the words spoken and the gestures made truly capture the essence of the moment and the soul standing at its threshold.
I put my entire heart into each offering, whether it is a quiet, intimate rite or a large ceremonial gathering. It is an honor to be trusted in these moments, and an even greater honor to be witnessed in the devotion behind the work. This path is not a conventional one, nor is it accessible without deep trust , trust that the work, the art of it all, and the years of devotion will sustain both the service and the servant.
I remain humble in this calling, grateful for the lives I am invited into, and committed to serving all who come with sincerity, courage, and readiness to be transformed.
