🕯️ MERCY MAKING 🕯️ A Día de los Muertos Pocket Altar Workshop There are some people we never stop carrying with us.
In celebration of Día de los Muertos, artist Kat Vinegrad and The Good Witch of LA are opening the table for an afternoon of making Mercies - tiny, handmade pocket altars created to carry the photographs, memories and little treasures of those we love. We’ll spend the afternoon sitting together, stitching, storytelling, laughing, remembering and creating. We’ll teach you the simple hand-stitching techniques needed to construct your Mercy. Each person will receive a kit and choose from an assortment of patterned fabrics to create the foundation of their piece. Then comes the fun part. We’ll open up our collection of fabrics, charms, beads, trinkets, findings, ribbons and curious little treasures for you to explore and make your Mercy entirely your own. We invite you to bring photographs, handwritten notes, bits of fabric, jewelry, tiny objects or anything meaningful that connects you to someone you would like to honor. Your Mercy may be dedicated to one person, several ancestors, or those you simply wish to keep close. No sewing experience necessary. We’ll learn and create together. And we are not rushing this. We have 4–5 hours to settle around the table, work with our hands, share stories, snack, sip, laugh and watch these little altars slowly come to life. 🕯️ Saturday, October 24, 2026 ⏰ 12:30 PM 📍 Highland Park 💰 $68 per person 🧵 4–5 hour workshop Space Limited to 12 People
